Behind the scenes of the 13th Annual Festival of the Arts Boca in March, artists from the Russian National Orchestra and Bolshoi Ballet led master class sessions for over 100 high school students.
Alexei Bruni, the eminent First Violinist of the Russian National Orchestra, is bent over on a chair, clutching his jaw with both hands. “He has a terrible toothache,” says the other musician. Bruni is in such agony that he can barely look up at me.
Presenting 10 days of events involving hundreds of people and moving parts is risky and stressful, to say the least.
