Wendy Larsen is a highly-regarded planning and planning law consultant who has provided professional services throughout her career to public and private sector clients in more than 25 states and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico in regard to land use planning, environmental planning, open space and agricultural preservation, downtown revitalization, new community development and growth management. The firm was the lead consultant for the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Boca Raton and in the development of a master plan for downtown redevelopment. This effort resulted in implementation of a $50 million infrastructure and beautification program and the planning and development of the City’s award-winning Mizner Park redevelopment project, which has been described as “perhaps the best example of new urbanism in the United States.”
Ms. Larsen is active in community affairs and has served on a number of not-for-profit boards including as the past chairperson and founder for the Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park, Inc., an organization responsible for building a cultural arts center which includes a new museum of art, and outdoor amphitheater in Mizner Park in Boca Raton. Larsen has served on the Festival of the Arts BOCA steering committee since the commencement of the Festival in 2007 and is now co-producer. As a Board Member of the Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park, she has served on various committees and is now Treasurer.
Ms. Larsen has also served on the Board of Directors for the Boca Raton Historical Society for a term of six years; was chair of the Boca Raton Board of Directors for the former Florida Philharmonic Orchestra and Vice President of the Governing Council Committee. Larsen also served on the Board of Directors for the Palm Beach County Cultural Council.
