Richard Blanco is many things: author, poet, playright, recipient of 2021 National Humanities Medal, professor, Woodrow Wilson Fellow, Education Ambassador for The Academy of American Poets, Poet Laureate of Miami-Dade County, Cuban-American, Floridian, Down-Easter.
