Our Hispanic Heritage

Thursday, September 19 | 6:00 PM

The Schmidt Boca Raton Historical Museum

Co-Presented by Festival of the Arts BOCA and
Boca Raton Historical Society &
The Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum

Despite our city's very Spanish name, Boca Raton’s Spanish heritage is fairly modern. Today, about 15 percent of the local population classify themselves as Hispanic. However, the city fell in love with “Spanish style” architecture when Addison Mizner came to town in the mid-1920s, and we still embrace his influences in our shopping centers, homes, and public buildings today.

The Candy Band (keyboard, bass, percussion, and sax) will play authentic Latin music, including salsa, merengue, and Cha-Cha! It will be a night for dancing!

Tickets will be $40 for Historical Society members and $45 for non-members.
