Joanna Marie Kaye has been involved in the South Florida arts community for many years. She was the Director of WXEL Radio, a Classical and NPR station in West Palm Beach, for 15 years. She was also host and producer of Classical Variations, a radio program dedicated to playing great music and informing South Floridians about local concerts and arts events. Joanna’s background as a vocalist and former member of the Florida Philharmonic Chorus infused her broadcasts with musical insight and personal passion. When she was not on the air, she was often found hosting local concerts or performing as narrator of major musical works, such as Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf and Camille Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals. Joanna was honored by the Association for Women in Communications as the Woman of the Year in Radio for 2002.
Joanna returned to South Florida in June of 2014 after two years in Pittsburgh, PA where she was the Managing Director of Classical WQED-FM. She is thrilled to be home and once again part of the South Florida Arts Community.
